Erica Roszell, LCSW-C

About EricaHi, I’m Erica.

I have spent my entire life observing my environment to understand human behavior better and the efforts we make to seek love and find healing. I believe everyone has childhood experiences that shape the way they interact with the world around them, and my story is no different. My upbringing made me passionate about helping people find their voice and connect more effectively to those around them.

I grew up with a flight attendant for a mother, so I had the advantage of being able to challenge my worldview at a young age. I remember reflecting on how various families communicate love on a global level, as well as observing how cultural norms are developed. I always enjoyed comparing differences with an understanding that life is not as concrete as our brains desire to believe.

Right and wrong often depend on who is evaluating the differences.

My passion for travel sent me to a country named Laos, where I desired to help women in crisis. I lived there for five years with my husband and gave birth to my oldest child in Bangkok, Thailand. I moved back to America to pursue a Master of Social Work degree at the University of New England, which prepared me to better understand human behavior through a variety of lenses and methodologies.

I believe most people desire community, meaningful relationships, finding purpose, feeling fulfilled, safety, and generating a worthwhile legacy. It is through our journey of seeking these accomplishments that we discover more about ourselves and occasionally struggle to navigate obstacles to these goals. It is my desire to assist people on their journey of self-actualization and empowerment to generate a life they find meaningful and worthwhile.

My training and experience have prepared me to help you.

I have experience working with people ages 5-95 and offer individual and couples therapy sessions. I specialize in anxiety, depression, personality disorders, OCD, grief, family stress, and trauma. As a certified trauma therapist, I utilize a variety of modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Family systems therapy, and Exposure therapy. I aspire to walk with you on your personal journey, wherever it may lead you. I look forward to meeting you soon.

Fun Facts About Me

Growing up, dancing was my life. As an adult, I eventually realized dancing was my own therapy. It was a physical way to express and release my emotions. I continue to love all forms of dance and enjoy learning new styles from around the world. It is almost impossible for me to listen to music and not choreograph a number inside my mind while listening.

Additionally, I love anything related to crafts, theater, learning about other cultures, or traveling. I have lived abroad in several countries and appreciate how it keeps me humble to remember just how much more there is to learn in this great expanse of a world. There are very few topics that I am not interested in.
