About EmilyHi, I’m Emily.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I am a compassionate and collaborative therapist who believes that each person has a unique story and capacity for growth. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Salisbury University and my master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from The George Washington University.

Throughout my experience, I have had the opportunity to work with young adults and adults, supporting people as they navigate life transitions, relationships, personal challenges, and other experiences that may impact their sense of well-being and connection. With my background in rehabilitation counseling, I also had the opportunity to work with individuals with disabilities, which has shaped my understanding of the importance of honoring each person’s individual strengths, goals, abilities, and lived experiences.

My approach is grounded in a humanistic perspective, with a focus on creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel seen, heard, and understood. I work from a person-centered therapy (PCT), narrative, somatic, and relational-cultural therapy (RCT) framework, tailoring therapy to each individual’s needs, experiences, and goals.

While working together…

I prioritize the therapeutic relationship and believe that meaningful change can occur when individuals feel genuinely accepted and empowered. I also explore the importance of connection, relationships, and belonging in our overall well-being. My goal is to meet you where you are, honor your lived experience, and support you in developing a greater self-understanding, connection, and agency.

Fun Facts About Me

I love to read, shop at bookstores, relax, do puzzles, hang with friends and family, and spend time by the water or at the beach. But of course, my favorite season is fall!
