Teri Jedeikin, LCSW-C

Teri HeadshotHi! I’m Teri…

I am an African born, Asia inspired, US rooted woman with a multi-textured approach to life, love and learning. My bio is a tapestry of travels, triumphs, trials and tribulations that I draw from to be an empathic and insightful listener.

Growing up at the end of Apartheid South Africa infused me with social justice values, compassion and love of cultural heritage. Living and working in Asia yielded both personal healing and professional guidance. With a Bachelor of Arts in Theater, Psychology and Social Anthropology at Rhodes and University of Cape Town and a Master’s degree at University of Maryland School of Social work, I have dedicated 25 years to integrating and actualizing my creativity and spirituality into a professional path. Prior to working as a clinical therapist in school and community settings, I have been a creative experiential educator, a community growth facilitator and Fair-Trade creative capacity builder.

My passion is to help people see that it is “through the cracks that the light comes in” and that each light is uniquely powerful and lovable.

I utilize a holistic toolbox to help adults, children and families rediscover strength, resilience and playfulness. Traditional talk therapy can be woven with CBT and Parts work to better understand your core beliefs, conflicts and obstacles. Other guided practices like BWRT, EMDR, Felt sense Focusing and creative, expressive treatment modalities will access your bodies wisdom to help you let go, trust; release the shame and blame to reclaim your confidence and self-worth.

I draw from my own life challenges to resonate with yours…

Maybe its loss that you are dealing with… loss of a loved one to death, separation, incarceration, substances or the monthly grief of infertility. You or your children might be seeking a more empowered, compassionate way of approaching neurodiversity such as ADHD or ASD. Perhaps your depression or anxiety feel like something you have inherited or don’t understand. Whatever the source of the pain, we will work together to help you trust that you are not broken…you are breaking open to a deeper, more authentic sense of yourself.
