Hi! I’m Mary.
For as long as I can remember, I have had a passion for helping others, leading me to pursue a career as a therapist. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Salisbury University and my master’s degree in clinical psychology from Towson University.
Since that time, I have gained years of experience working with adults, adolescents, children, and families in outpatient, community, and school-based settings. My experiences as a school-based therapist have provided me with unique skills to help parents and children navigate the many developmental changes and obstacles that may arise as children grow. I am passionate about empowering families to conquer the challenges accompanying parenthood with a sense of strength and hope.
My therapy style is an eclectic approach based on each client’s unique needs and personality, often incorporating elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy, EMDR, person-centered therapy, play therapy, and expressive therapy modalities.
Children communicate through play.
As a certified TraumaPlay therapist, I believe that children communicate through play. For this reason, I often utilize expressive therapeutic modalities such as art, play, and sand-tray techniques to promote healing. Using such modalities allows me to engage children, adolescents, and even adults who may have been previously reluctant to participate in therapy.
Within therapy sessions, I provide a judgment-free, safe space in which clients feel seen and validated. I believe in taking a collaborative approach in which we work together to discover your internal strengths and break free from self-destructive patterns. My goal is to walk alongside clients on their journey towards healing.
Fun Facts About Me
I moved to the Eastern Shore several years ago with my husband and our pups! We recently welcomed our first child and love spending time together, trying new restaurants, and being by the water.
